I'm in. 6 months to go and I finally got the green light from doc to ride and run. It'll be fun getting ready. |

Reply with quote | #4 | I want to register for the 2009 Florida IM. I know that the best shot at it is to actually be present at the '08 race when the tables open. Trying online an hour later is a crap shoot.
I live in Utah and chances of me flying out to the event just to sign up are a little slim.
Has anyone had any experience with having someone else sign up for them at an IM event? If so, Would a fellow Team Aquaphor Athlete be willing to 'hook' me up and assist me on the day of race registration in Florida? I am not asking for them to pay for it, of course.
Please let me know. My email address is: andycompas@yahoo.com
Thank you in advance and Good Luck to those Florida IMers.
Andy

Reply with quote | #5 | Hey Andy, I did sign up for the 2008 IM by being present at the 2007 race. The problem with your request (and I would love to help) is that they required picture ID at the time of sign up. Unless you have a twin out there I don't think it would work.

Reply with quote | #6 | Registration policy states you mest register in person. No more "friends" signing friends up. Of course, if there are slots left, they'll put them online.
For an extra $500 you can get a Community Fund slot. Might be cheaper than flying to Florida from Utah. |

Hi Andy, Here are a couple things you can do to possibly get in to Florida when online registration opens. Be online a few minutes early, its supposed to open at 11:00, so I checked at 10:55 and by about 10:57 the site was up for registration. (I've found this to be true with another race that fills quickly.) My friend who was trying to get in also, logged in at 11:00 and by the time she hit send, registration was closed. Make sure you already have an active account and be logged in so you won't have to type address etc. I also left out things like typing occupation and previous IM experience. I think with Florida every second counts, you can always email them and add left off information. Hope this helps! Ginger |
